2010-trends-IT

Hi all, I ran across this article while browsing cnet and thought it interesting that in terms of data speeds on cellular networks, the US seems to be increasingly falling behind. These trends reflect data from the last quarters of 2009. As we enter 2010, I believe we will see increased speeds thanks to newer 4G networks. The problem will continue to be the lack of continuity between the vendors. Unlike the rest of the world only some of the Cellular companies are using GSM.

Only time will tell what happens.

GoogleVsBing

I was reading the NYTimes and came across this interesting article about the possiblity of Apple dropping Google for Bing. I have posted earlier thoughts on Bing and haven’t heard from many people who are actively using Bing as their primary search engine… However, I do know that Apple has had problems with Google recently with some of their Apps that Apple has yet to approve for their devices. We at Saluti Cahn tend to still use Google, however, Bing seems to be gaining ground as the results produced are more relevant / current.

This article struck me as especially relevant given the timing of the passing holiday season.  Many electronics are bought and sold during the holidays, but are often just disgarded in the trash.  This article discusses what happens to them and ways to make better use of old technology through recycling.
